Helping Heroes at Triadelphia Ridge
This
year at Triadelphia Ridge Elementary, the staff members have devised a way to
emphasize different character traits each month while inspiring the students to
change from bystanders, victims, or bullies to heroes. Helping Heroes help one another, stand
up for one another, and try through words and deeds to make TRES a safe environment for learning and growing for
every student. Each month a
different character trait will be highlighted. This is done through weekly announcements made by different
staff members, classroom lessons by the school counselor, daily announcements
made by the fifth grade announcers, and through opportunities presented in the
classroom, lunchroom and playground.
The students exhibiting the identified trait will be recognized with a
certificate. (certificate.pdf). The white copy of the certificate will
go home with the student on the day it is received. The yellow copy will go into the team Helping Heroes bucket. At the
end of the month, three names from each team will be chosen. These names will be announced during
morning announcements on the first day of the new month. The students will receive a pin tag, a
bookmark, and will have their picture taken. The pictures will be displayed at the front of the school
for all to see.
The
TRES staff is certain that there will be many students receiving more than one
certificate in a month, AND receiving certificates every month!
