Welcome to Fifth Grade!

The Team has some new and unique things planned for the students this year.

First is the Fifth Grade Peer Leaders. Fifth graders will create presentations on various character traits and will present them to kindergarten classes during allotted times. Only fifth graders will be taking part is this unique opportunity.

Second is Quarterly Projects. The fifth grade team has done away with book reports and we have replaced them with quarterly writing projects. Once a quarter students will present their long-term writing project to their peers as well as to their parents. Parents will be invited to attend the presentations which will include power points, bulletin/poster boards, hands-on projects etc.. The themes and dates for the projects are included in the Important Dates table on the right.

Four field trips are planned for the Fifth Graders - Genesee Valley Outdoor Education Center, Tour of Philadelphia, Tree-Planting/Stream Buffer Project and Middle School Visitations. The dates are shown in the table on the right. The dates are still to be set by HCPSS for the tree-planting and middle school visit field trips.
