School counselors implement the Howard Country Essential Curriculum for School Counseling which includes goals and activities for all grade levels in the areas of academic, career and personal/social development. School counselors help students and their families cope with crisis events in their lives as they related for academic achievement. School counselors work with school staff, parents and agencies to provide support for students to increase learning.

School Psychologist

The school psychologist offers direct and indirect support of student academic achievement and personal growth through direct and indirect assessment and intervention services. By assessing cognitive abilities, strengths, and student needs as well as their emotional development in the context of the school environment, the school psychologist assists in the school-based instructional interventions. Brief individual, family or group counseling may be offered to address academic success.
