I think winter is on our doorstep. I would like to congratulate our football team for a great season and advancing to the State Semi-Final game. Tough loss but our boys played a great game!! Please remember that our Music department and Dance department will be holding their winter concerts the next several weeks. Our students have worked hard preparing and would love to see large crowds at these events. The Principal’s Coffee for Nov./Dec. will be held Thursday, December 17 at 8:00 a.m. in the Student Dining Center. Please join me for some great conversation.

The All-State Senior Band/Orchestra is a select group of musicians selected from throughout the state, representing the most talented students in grades 10-12.
Absence on Dec. 3
If your child plans to attend the funeral on Thursday, please send a note to school TOMORROW. Also, carpooling is highly recommended because of the large number of people expected and the limited parking available in the area.

The family of Steven Dankos has made arrangements for friends and others to pay their respects on Wednesday, December 2nd, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7501 Adelphi Road, Hyattsville, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to River Hill High School for a future award/scholarship program. There will be a service on Thursday, December 3rd at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church with burial service immediately following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. If your child is planning on attending the memorial and/or funeral services, he or she should be accompanied by a parent/guardian, as young people should not go through this experience alone and will likely need adult support during such a difficult time.
