Principal’s Update
November 28, 2007
I think winter is on our doorstep. I would
like to congratulate our football team for winning a second
straight Regional Championship
and again advancing to the State Semi-Final game. Go Hawks!! I
hope you can make it out to the game on Friday – 7:00 PM.
Please remember that our Music department and Dance department
will be holding their winter concerts the next several weeks. Our
students have worked hard preparing and would love to see large
crowds at these events. The Principal’s Coffee for Nov./Dec.
will be held next Thursday, December 6th at 8:00 a.m. in the Student
Dining Center. Please join me for some great conversation. The
following information is being provided to help keep you informed.
We would like to congratulate Mr. Dale Castro who has been promoted
to Assistant Principal at Atholton High School. Mr. Castro’s
last day will be Friday, November 30. Mr. Castro’s replacement
will be Mr. Kareef Overton. Mr. Overton is a 2007 graduate of
Bowie State University and he comes to River Hill after serving
as an Intern at Glenelg High School for the Fall Semester. Mr.
Overton has three years experience as a substitute teacher, one

· Guidance Update
Attention Seniors
Just a reminder, that many colleges require applicants to submit
their mid-year senior grades. It is important that seniors continue
to work hard throughout their senior year because the grades
that you earn as a senior can have a direct bearing on whether
you are accepted by a school or not. Senior year is not a time
to slack off as a student, continue to work hard and it will
pay off in the acceptances you receive.
Carson Scholars Scholarship
The Carson Scholars Fund aims to recognize and reward students
