STUDENT SERVICES UPDATE

Cap and Gown Ordering:       Seniors have already received their Cap and Gown order forms and a representative of the company will be at River Hill on November 10, 11, and 12 during all lunch shifts to collect the forms. In addition, a representative will be at River Hill on November 11 from 5:30pm-7:30pm to meet with parents and collect forms.

Thanksgiving Letters for US Military: Mr. Ives in the Student Services Office will be collecting letters for soldiers in the military to send out during the Thanksgiving holiday.  Students can write their own letters and drop them off in Mr. Ives' office or they can come after school on November 17, 18, and 19, 2009 to write letters in the Student Services Office.  There are plans to make care packages for soldiers during the upcoming holidays in December and information about this will be forthcoming.  Thank you for your support of our soldiers in the armed forces.

Financial Aid Night: Financial Aid Night will be Monday, November 16 at 7pm in the Information Center. Dr. Herm Davis will be the presenter. He will be giving tips on how to fill out the FAFSA Form and explaining how financial aid is awarded. The Financial Aid Night originally scheduled for November 10th is canceled.

Mock SAT Exam at Wilde Lake High School: A SAT mock test will be administered on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. at Wilde Lake High School.  The fee for the mock test will be $10 (cash).  Please return the registration form and pay the testing fee to Mr. Rose in room 238 by Friday, November 13, 2009.  Students who are registering outside of Wilde Lake should report by 7:30 a.m. to register the day of the test.  There will be no refunds for those students who miss the test.  The test is open to the first 100 students who register. Wilde Lake High School in conjunction with Studyworks (SAT PREP source) has established the SAT mock test in an effort to prepare students for the SAT.  Studies show that students do better the second time they take the SAT.  It is our goal to let the mock test represent the first time.  A representative from Studyworks will give a presentation and provide each student with a written analysis on a date to be determined.  On the day of the test, students who are pre-registered should report to Main Street (Front lobby Wilde Lake High) by 7:45a.m.; students who are not registered should report by 7:30 a.m.  All students should bring two #2 pencils, a calculator, and a snack.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Rose at (410) 313-6965 or by email:  erose@hcpss.org.  Students who do not attend Wilde Lake should email Mr. Rose to reserve a spot.
