Principal’s Update
10/23/07

Dear Parents,

Many of our sport teams are entering playoffs this week and next. Check calendar for game times. Please come out and support our teams. Our wonderful Art Department will have its semi-annual Coffee House, this coming Friday, Oct. 26th, at 7:00 p.m. Make sure you mark your calendar.

The end of the first marking period is November 1st. Hopefully your student has been successful; if not, do not hesitate to contact guidance to set up a conference. We will have conference times available on November 19th, 20th and 21st. The conference request form can be downloaded from our website.

I will be holding my monthly Principal’s Coffee Thursday, November 1st, at 8:00 a.m. in the student dining area. Please join me for good coffee, delicious doughnuts and excellent conversation.

The following information is being provided to help keep you informed of the many happenings at River Hill.

Congratulations to the following;

The River Hill High School Marching Band competed in the Maryland State Marching Band Championships this weekend at Century High School. The Band finished in first place in Group III Open with a season high score of 85.10, winning the awards for Best Percussion, Best Music, and Best Effect. In addition, Mr. Fischer was voted the "Best Band Director" for the whole competition.

The River Hill Marching Band continues its undefeated season in two weeks at the Naval Academy where they will meet their toughest and most extensive competition yet.

Way to go, Hawks!

All of each student’s transcripts will be mailed at the same time unless the student/parent indicate otherwise. Transcripts will be mailed as they are completed so as to not have a backlog.
