|
Dear Parents, The information that had been disseminated about a Fall sports info night originally listed that the meeting would take place tonight, August 24th. Fall coaches have been and will continue to hold their own meetings for parents, so there is no need for the general meeting tonight. We will have the parking presentation tonight at 7pm in the auditorium. Just a reminder that 1) parking is limited to seniors and juniors enrolled in the GT Mentorship program and 2) all debts must be cleared for a student to receive a parking permit. What is “Parents On Patrol?” You may have noticed a “parents on patrol” request on the PTSA volunteer form. Parents are needed during the school day to help supervise hallways, walking paths, and public spaces. Basically, we need an extra set eyes during HAWK TIME – an activity that will take place on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Wednesday of every month and will give our students “open time” at RHHS. HAWK TIME will allow students to meet with clubs and groups during the school day. We all know how overscheduled so many of our students can be, and giving time during school to meet allows more students to get involved and participate in extracurricular activities! This time could also be used for students to meet with teachers to get extra help, make up assignments, or just get to know teachers and students in a casual setting.
Parents are a critical element to the success of Hawk Time since our teachers and staff cannot be everywhere. Your child’s high school years will go by quickly. Please consider volunteering for this one hour commitment once a month. Please sign up online when you complete your volunteer form or email PTSA Volunteer Coordinator, Denise Mitchell, denisemitchell@comcast.net if you’d to help.
