Dear Parents,
Our busy month of May has started with a flurry of activities. Our
AP exams started today and will run through May 16th. Following AP
exams we will have HSA exams. Our spring sports playoffs start this
week and our chorus and jazz band have their spring concerts – Go
Hawks. I hope you can make it out to these events t o support our
students.
Please take the time to fill out the online survey about school
climate. We do value your input regarding our overall climate and
take the results of this survey very seriously. We would like to have
100% of our parents take the survey.
Senior parents, please remember to monitor your student's schedule of
events. This month is very busy with many deadlines. The Senior
Information Sheet and envelope for final grades was due in guidance on
May 1. Many have not turned in this form.
I hope you have had a chance to see our Seniors' Reflection Book.
The writings were outstanding and told a lot about each one of our
seniors. A special thank you goes out to the senior English teachers,
especially Ms. Curry who coordinated the activit y.
Thank you in advance to all of you who will be sending in notes,
food, etc. in support of Teacher Appreciation Week. Our teachers
always feel appreciated during this week. River Hill parents are
Preeminent.

Junior League Scholarship – Sustainer Service Award It is with great
pleasure that the Junior League of Baltimore, Inc. accepts nominations
for the Sustainer Service Award. Named in honor of the League's most
experienced volunteers, this award is a scholarship in the amount of
$1,000 and is given annually to a female graduating senior who has
performed outstanding volunteer service during her public high school
years. As an organization committed to promoting voluntarism and
developing the potential of women, the Junior League believes this
scholarship is an appropriate way to provide recognition, support and
reward to the voluntary activities of young women in the greater
Baltimore community. Nominations for the Sustainer Service Award may
come from any public high school administrator, guidance staff or
faculty member or from any member of the Junior League. Neither
financial need nor academic standing will be determining factors in
selecting the recipient; the sole criterion will be the quality of the
candidate's voluntary service. Nominations must be made on the
application form found in the guidance office and returned to the
Junior League office no later than April 30, 2008. The application
must be accompanied by written verification of both the candidate's
volunteer service and plans to continue her education after high
school. The winner wil l be notified during the first week in May and
will be invited to attend the Junior League of Baltimore's Annual
Dinner on May 13, 2008 with an adult (parent, teacher, clergy) of her
