Mr.
Danny Ives - Mr. Ives is in his 4th
year as a guidance counselor at River Hill High School. He obtained his
undergraduate degree in Social Work from Limestone College and worked
for seven years as a foster care worker. After earning his graduate degree
from Bowie State University he worked for one year with the Howard County
Public Schools Alternative Learning Program. Mr. Ives works with students
with the last names from (A-Do), assists with the New Student groups,
coordinates the Peer Mediation program, and is a liaison for the Black
Leadership Union.
Mr. Phil Vangeli - Mr. Vangeli is in his 14th year of counseling and has been at River Hill since 2001. He earned both his undergraduate degree and graduate degree from Hofstra University. Mr. Vangeli played lacrosse for Hofstra and was also a college admissions counselor there for two years. Mr. Vangeli is the Instructional Team Leader for the Guidance Office and the Coordinator for the Student Assistance Program (SAP). Mr. Vangeli is the counselor for students with the last name beginning with O-Sp (12th grade) and O-R (9th-11th). Mr. Vangeli coordinates Scholastic Aptitude Testing (SAT) at River Hill and coaches Girls Lacrosse. pvangeli@hcpss.org
Ms.
Neyda Moulier - Ms.
Moulier is in her first year of counseling. She earned her undergraduate
degree in Studio Art from the University of Maryland College Park and
worked for two years as a Graphic Designer. Ms. Moulier recently obtained
her Master’s degree in School Counseling from Loyola College
in Maryland and is the first full-time counselor assigned to the Newcomer
Program. The Newcomer Program is both an academic as well as transitional
program for international students new to the Howard County Public
School System.
Mr.
Kareef Overton -
Mr. Overton is a 2007 graduate of Bowie State
School PsychologistDr. Jonathan Solomon – Dr. Solomon has been a school psychologist for over 25 years. He earned his undergraduate degree from Hofstra University and received his master’s and Doctorate from Syracuse University. Dr. Solomon has worked with students from pre-school through college in five different states (NY, AZ, IA, MN, While most of his career has been spent working in schools, he has also worked in private practice and taught at Syracuse University and the University of Arizona. As a member of River Hill’s Guidance team, he consults with staff, parents and students, conducts assessments and interventions as part of the special education or Section 504 processes, assists in crisis intervention, and conducts system-wide interventions.
