    Graduation Information

    Many rumors tend to circulate our community concerning the date of our Commencement ceremony. Please do not make firm plans until a date has officially been released by Mr. Eastham's office. We expect to have an announcement sometime in April.


    Caps & Gowns

    Caps, gowns, graduation announcements and other products may be ordered through our supplier, Jostens. A sales representative will be at school on Thursday, February 2nd and Friday, February 3rd. Orders may also be placed online through www.jostens.com and following the links to the Oakland Mills High School shop. All seniors present on Wednesday, January 25th received an information packet during homeroom. Extra packets are available in the front office.

    FAQ:

    1. How much does the cap and gown cost?

           $30

    2. May I reuse a previous graduate's cap and gown?

           Maybe. In an effort to conserve the uniformity and formality of our commencement ceremony, all graduates are required to wear matching caps and gowns. Those from several years ago no longer match. If you own a previous graduate's cap and gown and would like to reuse it, please have your student bring it to school for approval from the Graduation Coordinator, Mrs. Florida (room 303).

    3. When will I receive my cap and gown?

           Jostens delivers the caps and gowns to the school. We distribute them at school on the first day of our graduation rehearsals at the end of May.
