Tiffany Lang Named HoCo Female Runner of the Year

Congratulations to Tiffany Lang who was named Howard County Female Runner of the Year. Alyssa Hemler and Sam Andrews were selected to First Team All County. Tom Brumbaugh and Steven Cale - Second Team All County. Tiffany Lang was also First Team All Met for the Baltimore Sun and Second Team All Met for the Washington Post. Sam Andrews was also Second Team All Met for the Baltimore Sun.

Want to play a sport at OMHS? You'll need:

  • Physical dated after April 1, 2011 (forms can be obtained online or picked up at OM)
  • Parent permission form (can be obtained online or picked up at OM)
  • Consent for Sports Concussion Program Form
  • Proof of residency - lease, rental agreement, or utility bill (excluding cell phone bill)
  • Copy of Birth Certificate (all athletes who have played a sport at OM have one on file)
  • Academic Eligibility - 4th quarter grades will determine eligibility (2.0 GPA and no "E's" for the FOURTH Quarter)

All of this information must be turned in PRIOR to participating. Athletes will not be permitted to try out if paperwork is incomplete. All forms can be found here.

OM Athletics Results

February 3, 2012

  • The Scorpion Wrestling Team has won 16 matches in a row now after shutting down Catonsville last night. OM was powered by a big win from Michael Moore and pins from Zach Hensley, Anthony Ahumada, Matt Claxton, Noah Wright, and Roy Kadge.

February 1, 2012

  • The Wrestling Team won a close battle last night coming from behind to overcome Atholton and extend their win streak to 15 matches. Key matches were Roy Kadge, Zach Hensley, Michael Moore, and Tony Farace who stepped up for the team.

January 30, 2012

  • At the Georgetown Invitational this weekend, Tiffany Lang placed first in the Mile Run. Alyssa Hemler placed 5th in the 2 Mile Run. The Girls Distance Medley Relay Team of Alyssa Hemler, Shamere Law, Jessica Lampron, Tiffany Lang placed 7th. Congratulations Indoor Track!









  • Congratulations to Girls Varsity Basketball Team who fought through a rough first half to defeat Marriotts Ridge Friday night by the score of 54-33 and extend their record to 14-2. The JV Girls Basketball Team had a big win over Marriots Ridge on Friday night. Diamond Lee and Maranda Robinson made big contributions for the Lady Scorps. Next up for the Scorps will be playing Glenelg on Wednesday at 5:30pm at Home for first place in the county. We need all students and staff to attend the game and cheer on the girls. We all hope to see and hear you there.

January 25, 2012

  • The Wrestling Team has extended their win streak to 14 wins now after crushing Mt. Hebron and Centennial last night. Leading the way were strong showings by Zach Hensley, David Ulysse, and Dominick Clarke while Tony Farace joins an elite few who have won 150 varsity matches.

January 24, 2012

  • Congratulations to these individuals/relay teams for placing 1st and earning a County Championship medal: Tiffany Lang - 1600 Meter Run; Sam Andrews - 3200 Meter Run; Girls 4x800 Meter Relay Team - Tiffany Lang, Lara Celtnieks, Jessica Lampron, Alyssa Hemler. Other Track Team place winners were:

    • Cassandra Pope - 2nd - 55 Meter Hurdles
    • Tenard Childs - 3rd - 55 Meter Hurdles
