Grade 5 Information
Fifth grade students focus on developing organizational skills, good work habits, and strategies for problem solving. Development of these skills will enhance their independence and responsibilities. Each child's instructional progress may vary based on individual needs.
Homework
Students are assigned homework in spelling, and mathematics each night. In addition, students read about 20 minutes each night noting their progress in their reading log. Students will be assigned homework in language arts, science, and social studies as needed. Long- term projects in the various content areas are assigned throughout the year. These skills should increase their comfort levels as they embark on their middle school adventure.
