The Howard County Middle School Gifted and Talented Symphonic Band is a countywide program for middle school band students who excel in their school programs. Children are nominated to audition by their respective band directors based on their demonstration of excellent music skills and cooperation in the school band program. The GT Band is conducted by notable professional conductors and pedagogues. The Howard County Honors Band is an honors ensemble made up of members from every middle school in the county. Selected students must have completed the audition for the GT Symphonic Band. The 2010 Howard County GT Symphonic Band will be conducted by Mr. John Mitchell. The ensemble will be administered and prepared under the auspices of Mr. Jeffry Brodie and Ms. Shelly Williams, with the Honor Band prepared by Mr. Richard Roberts and Ms. Lori Schwartz Reichl. Audition Repertoire and Rehearsal/Performance Schedule have been updated with 2012-2013 information.
