Parts of S.H.O.P.



 
Education
  • Prom Promise - The LRHS prom was on May 5th.  The week before, S.H.O.P. offered students a pledge to remain drug and alcohol free for prom.  It was free and anyone who made the pledge received a small gift.
  • Distribution of AIDS ribbons and packet to inform
  • S.H.O.P. institute - a weekend at Camp Letts where there are guest speakers and fun activities
  • Reality Check - improv skits about substance abuse for other schools and organizations



 
Community Service
  • Adopt-a-Road - once a month, S.H.O.P. members clean up Old Dobbin Road, which is the road in front of Long Reach
  • Adopt-a-Family - helps a needy family during the Christmas season by buying them things they need to have a wonderful Christmas
  • Canned Food Drive - donations go to the Howard County Food Bank
  • Hospice Auction - raise money to go to charity

  • S.H.O.P. Raps - sessions once a month to meet S.H.O.P. students from other schools and talk about teen issues
