Eric Carle is the author of numerous children's books.  Although many children love to read Eric Carle books, his contribution to children ages 4-6 is extraordinary.  The appeal of Eric Carle's books and his ability to understand children of all ages is just one of the reasons he is such a popular, well loved author.  Some of Eric Carle's books include:

Jan Brett and Dr. Seuss

Jan Brett is both a wonderful author and a gifted illustrator.  As a child, Jan loved to spend her time reading and drawing, saying: "I remember the special quiet of rainy days when I felt that I could enter the pages of my beautiful picture books. Now I try to recreate that feeling of believing that the imaginary place I'm drawing really exists. The detail in my work helps to convince me, and I hope others as well, that such places might be real."  Some of Jan Brett's books include:

Dr. Seuss, or Theodore Seuss Geisel, was born and raised in New England.  Writing children's books was not his lifelong goal:  before becoming a famous children's author, Dr. Seuss joined the Army, wrote documentaries, and created Academy Award winning cartoons.  A favorite author among both children and adults, Dr. Seuss died September 24, 1991.  Dr. Seuss wrote over 40 children's books, some of them including:
