A Message from Mr. Chillemi:
Welcome to Longfellow Elementary School! We pride ourselves on being a school where “Soaring Eagles Dare to Dream.” We are also a school, which strives always to provide our students with a safe, nurturing and welcoming learning environment. Longfellow has an extensive PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) program in place to support our students. In fact, Longfellow was named an Exemplary PBIS school for the many effective components of this program. Longfellow was one of only four Howard County elementary schools to receive this recognition. I have 36 years of experience as an educator in the Howard County Public School System, 25+ of them as an administrator. I started out as a first grade teacher and have always loved the little ones. To see them each and every day keeps me young at heart.
I think you will find Longfellow is a shining example of a school, which educates the whole child. It is truly a great place for children. In closing, we constantly remind ourselves that “Excellence Begins with Me.”
