Parents of 6th Grade Students: Both Ms. Mchado(Spanish) and Mr. Robertson (French) believe that ALL students should be enrolled in a World Language class. Both teachers invite you to contact them to discuss questions that you may have concerning the World Language classes that we offer at Folly Quarter.
SPANISH
7th-Grade Spanish students will be baking the "Bread of the Dead" together with Mrs. Leitner’s students. This activity will enhance cultural awareness to this important celebration "Dia de los Muertos", that continues to be very much celebrated in Mexico and other Latino countries.
First Quarter report card grades are posted on the web at: http://teacherweb.com/MD/FQMS/Robertson/
Grades for students taking French are available 24/7 on line at http://teacherweb.com/MD/FQMS/Robertson/. Grades (notes) can be accessed by clicking the icon for grades 7 or 8 and entering the student ID (your child’s student number). The information will appear in this order: points possible, points earned, percent, and letter grade. On line grades are updated approximately after every 4th class. Please note that grades are updated for students each time the class meets.
Students enrolled in French should have a report card grade of at least a “B”. If your child is not earning a “B” or above, please call Mr. Robertson, 410-313-1506.
Tutoring
Tutoring for Spanish and French is available after school for those students needing additional help. Please contact Ms Machado (Spanish) or Mr. Robertson (French) to
set up a convenient time. Students who don’t need additional help but would like to improve speaking skills in Spanish or French are also welcome.
Tutoring Part II
Take Home Tutor, a CD of our French textbook is available in the Media Center. Students may check out this CD and practice vocabulary, pronunciation, and workbook exercises at home.
Our world language teachers are looking for donations of the board game Scrabble. If you happen to see your Scrabble game and you are no longer using it, we would be happy to give it a new home. Drop it off at our school at our front office or send it to one of our language teachers (Mrs. Machado or Mr. Robertson). Please include your name so we can thank you.
