Architecture and Construction programs offer opportunities for students to pursue interests in developing and designing, constructing, and maintaining the built environment. Students in Construction Management learn basic design as well as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills. Architectural Design students focus on the planning of construction projects, material use, and develop design skills for residential structures.

The Architectural Design Academy introduces students to basic design theories and strategies related to the development of spatial concepts in architectural design. This includes composition, color, form, and the relationship of elements that are applied in the development of 2-D and 3-D design projects. This course of study further emphasizes the architectural design process while relating these principles to general construction practices.

In the study of Construction Management, students gain knowledge and skills in the application, design, production, and assessment of products, services, and management systems. Knowledge and skills in these areas prepare students for success in the modern world. In addition to carpentry, students in this course also explore a variety of construction trade areas, such as electrical and plumbing. The study of technology allows students to reinforce, apply, and transfer their academic knowledge and skills to a variety of interesting and relevant activities, problems, and settings. In addition to their general academic and technical knowledge and skills, students gain an understanding of available career opportunities and the requirements to enter those careers.
