Howard County Public Schools has a system-wide Student Code of Conduct.  This code, which is part of the larger discipline plan for the system, consists of twelve expected student behaviors.  These behavior statements are expectations for students to:

•Engage in learning activities and take schoolwork seriously
   
•Exhibit self-control

•Take responsibility for their own behavior
               
•Speak appropriately

•Respect the personal, civil, and property rights of others   
   
•Dress appropriately

•Seek alternatives to verbal or physical conflicts
           
•Behave ethically

•Complete assignments on time
                   
•Be courteous

•Attend school regularly, on time and be prepared to learn   
   
•Cooperate with others
